Segue builds on the successful elements of Wikid, but has adapted its content and style to meet the needs of GCSE courses and older students:
- more emphasis on factual material, to cover GCSE specifications
- scenarios and activities targeted at 14-16 year olds
- activities give students more independence and responsibility
- more variety and alternatives to PowerPoint stimulus material.
Segue is easier to use
Responding to teacher feedback, we have built in several new features in Year 9:
- 1-page Visual guides for super-fast planning
- Stand-alone sequences which can be taught in the order you want, with no interconnected plots
- Shorter PowerPoints, with fewer 'story' slides, and help on creating 'custom slide shows'
- Reduced need for photocopying, by specifying student sheets as reusable, consumable or 'best projected'.
Low level/SEN version
During Autumn 2010 we will publish an add-on pack for low level/SEN, developed by specialists.
Assessment
This will consist of differentiated Level 4-6, 6-8 problems, designed to challenge students, and provide evidence of achievement up to the highest APP levels.
